The Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB) has announced sweeping changes to its leadership structure, approving new appointments and special promotions during its 64th Regular Meeting held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
Chaired by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Economy, Wale Edun, the Board confirmed the elevation of five Deputy Comptroller-Generals (DCGs) and eight Assistant Comptroller-Generals (ACGs), in line with statutory provisions and the Federal Character Policy under Section 14(4) of the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023.

Ten officers were specially promoted in recognition of exceptional professionalism and service performance:

– Deputy Comptrollers of Customs: S. Omofoma, O.A. Oladepo, A.Y. Musa, A. Ogboru, A.A. Maiwada
– Assistant Comptroller of Customs: C.N. Essien, H. Aliyu
– Deputy Superintendent of Customs: A.S. Shofadekan
The Board emphasized that these promotions reflect its commitment to strengthening succession planning, boosting morale, and ensuring the Service remains responsive to evolving trade, security, and administrative challenges.
