The Female Gender Support Group (FGSG), one of Lagos State’s largest women-driven political support structures, on Saturday launched its PBAT 2027 Support Movement—an initiative aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilization for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 ambitions.
Speaking at the event, the Convener, Hon. Kafayat Akinpelu Agusto-Momoh, described the movement as “a commitment to unity, service, and the empowerment of women across all 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs of Lagos State.”
She emphasized that the group was founded on strong values: women empowerment, unity, grassroots engagement, service to humanity, integrity and accountability. With active and vibrant members across Lagos, Agusto-Momoh said the group has become “one of the most widely spread female-based political support structures in the state.”
Strategic Plans Toward 2027
Agusto-Momoh unveiled key strategies the group will deploy across Lagos to galvanize support for President Tinubu, including:
Ward-by-ward mobilization led by trained coordinators
Community sensitization through market outreaches, town hall meetings and direct grassroots engagements
Digital and media campaigns targeting women and families
Leadership training for women to strengthen capacity
Partnerships with youth groups, NGOs, market associations and religious women’s bodies
She noted that these efforts will highlight the achievements of the Tinubu administration and the importance of continuity in leadership.
Highlighting Tinubu’s Achievements
The Convener listed several achievements under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda from 2023 to date, including:
Economic reforms such as fuel subsidy removal and forex unification
Social welfare initiatives, including cash transfer programs and the student loan scheme
Major infrastructure projects across the nation
Improved security operations
Agricultural interventions aimed at reducing food importation
Advances in the power sector, especially renewable energy
Women and youth empowerment platforms
“These achievements reflect a leadership focused on rebuilding, stabilizing, and progressing our nation,” Agusto-Momoh added.
Leaders Endorse the Movement
After the official unveiling, Chief Rabiu Oluwa applauded the initiative, stressing that the challenges facing President Tinubu did not originate from his administration. He expressed confidence that with sustained support, Nigeria would overcome its difficulties.
Also speaking, Princess Rasheedat Abiodun Adu, immediate past Chairperson of Iru-Victoria Island LCDA, commended the organizers—“all women”—as proof that women are stepping boldly into leadership spaces.
She dismissed international narratives alleging genocide in Nigeria, affirming that “Nigeria is a nation where Christians and Muslims coexist peacefully.” Adu further encouraged women to continue participating in governance, noting that both President Tinubu and the Lagos State Governor have consistently empowered women.
FGSG: A Community of Support and Growth
The Female Gender Support Group reiterated its core mission of building a global network where women uplift one another emotionally, socially, politically, and intellectually.

In her closing remarks, Agusto-Momoh urged women across Lagos to unite with renewed determination and to continue shining the light of hope:

The launch closed with renewed optimism as members pledged unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of 2027.
