As the political landscape for the 2027 general elections begins to take shape, successful entrepreneur and human capital expert, Honorable Alade Jimoh, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Ado-Odo/Ota 1 State Assembly seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking at the ‘Meet the Press’ forum organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun West Independent Chapel, Jimoh emphasized that his foray into politics is driven by a desire for service rather than personal gain. He noted that the event, designed to allow aspirants to declare their priorities to the electorate, provided the perfect platform to share his vision for the constituency.
“If money were my priority, I would not join politics,” Jimoh stated during the session. “My priority is the interest to serve. As a grassroots man, I am willing to bridge the representation gaps that have bedeviled the assembly leadership in the past.”
A Vision for Empowerment and Education
A major pillar of Jimoh’s agenda is the development of the constituency’s human capital. Drawing from his professional background, he pledged to implement robust educational support systems for students and provide professional development training tailored for the youth.
He noted that equipping the younger generation with contemporary skills is essential for the long-term economic stability of the region.
Grassroots Economic Initiatives
To tackle poverty and stimulate the local economy, Honorable Jimoh revealed plans to establish ward-to-ward cooperative initiatives. This project aims to support Small and Medium-Scale Enterprises (SMEs) by providing accessible resources to local business owners.
“These initiatives will contribute in no small measure to alleviating poverty and bringing the dividends of democracy directly to the grassroots,” he added.
Jimoh concluded by reaffirming his absolute loyalty to the APC and the principle of party supremacy, vowing to leverage his wealth of experience as a manager of people and resources to provide effective, transparent, and accountable leadership if elected to the Ogun State House of Assembly.
