A socio-cultural group, the Oyo Nexus Club, has hailed Governor Seyi Makinde for appointing a legal icon, Dr. Idowu Oyeleke, as the commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources.
The group, in a statement by President and Secretary, Messrs Muideen Olatunji and Yakub Adekunle, described Oyeleke as an illustrious son of Oyo town “and an esteemed member of our club.”
The former Commissioner for Environment, Kehinde Ayoola, died in March after a brief illness.
Describing the appointment of Oyeleke as apt and a great honour to the people of Oyo town, the body said he would serve the government and citizens efficiently by ridding the state of filth.
Wishing Governor Makinde more wisdom and God’s guidance, the group urged the new commissioner to justify the confidence reposed in him by serving well.
