…Mobilizes Support for His 2027 Governorship Bid
The Adele Olu of Ilaro-Yewa, High Chief Abiodun Olalekan Ilo, has showered praise on Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for his remarkable developmental strides across Ogun West and beyond.
Speaking from his base in the United States during an online interview with Abu-Satar Hamed of StarTrend Int’l Magazine, the retired banker and respected traditional chief expressed admiration for the senator’s achievements since assuming office.
High Chief Ilo recalled his recent visit to Nigeria for the 2025 Oronna Ilaro Festival, noting that he was “overwhelmed” by the scale of people-focused projects he encountered. These included:
– Modern township roads
– Newly built classrooms across schools in Ogun West
– ICT centres
– Renovated hospitals with advanced medical facilities
– Upgraded police stations
– Recreational centres for community use
He further highlighted testimonies from beneficiaries of Senator Adeola’s training and empowerment programmes, describing them as evidence of the senator’s commitment to grassroots development.
According to Ilo, Senator Adeola’s performance in just over two years has demonstrated his capacity for leadership, leaving no doubt that he would excel if elected Governor of Ogun State in 2027.
Although he has yet to meet Senator Adeola personally, Ilo described him as approachable and accessible, expressing hope for a future encounter.
The Adele Olu of Ilaro-Yewa urged citizens of Ogun West and Ogun State at large to rally behind Senator Adeola’s gubernatorial ambition, which he described as a divine calling. He revealed that he, his wife, and other Ogun indigenes in the diaspora are already mobilizing support, encouraging fellow citizens abroad to return home to vote and actively promote Yayi’s candidacy ahead of the 2025 elections.
In addition, Ilo advised residents to remain vigilant and security-conscious, stressing the importance of reporting suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
