…Calls on Tinubu, security agencies to rise to the occasion
The Supreme Head of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria (umbrella body of all Cherubim & Sera[him churches), His Most Eminence Prophet Dr. Abiodun Adewale Alogbo, has condemned in strong terms the senseless killings of innocent and harmless citizens of Angwan Rukuba district in Jos, Plateau State, where several people were reportedly killed and others abducted, on Palm Sunday, a day set aside for worship and reflection by Christians.
Recall that last Sunday, suspected terrorists attacked Angwan Rukuba district in Jos leaving several scores of people dead and many more injured.
Speaking in a press statement issued, on Tuesday, in Lagos, Prophet Alogbo expressed worry over the incessant murders of innocent lives in the hands of terrorists operating in many parts of the country. He believed that the motive behind the Palm Sunday killings was more than meets the eyes coming at a time Christians were rounding off their Lenten period.
Said he, “Nigerians woke up on Palm Sunday to the news of the gruesome murder of several Christians by terrorists operating in Plateau State, on a day set aside for worship and reflection by Christians all over the world.
“These were innocent and harmless civilians who were out to praise their GOD before they met their untimely deaths. It is a fact that the motive behind this dastardly act is more than meets the eyes.”
The Supreme Head, therefore, called on President Bola Tinubu and security agencies to renew their efforts at nipping this menace in the bud once and for all. He charged all leaders of faith in the country as well as political leaders to roundly support the Federal Government and security agencies to put an end to the killings and wanton destruction of lives and property in the country by terrorists.
He, however, called for more calm, while urging Nigerians to keep faith in the security agencies to continue to provide security for the people.
