Honourable Kanmi Ajibola of the Osun State House of Assembly has described Primate Elijah Ayodele as a true man of God, a mentor, and an exceptional philanthropist whose impact extends beyond the church into governance and public service.
Speaking on Saturday, February 14, at Primate Ayodele’s birthday celebration in Lagos, Ajibola said his personal relationship with the cleric has been deeply inspiring. According to him, Primate Ayodele’s lifestyle of giving and dedication to humanity have set standards that even government institutions should emulate.
“Since I have been in contact with him, he has been a good mentor and a great philanthropist. We have copied from him what the government should even be doing for members of the public. He is God-sent, and we appreciate having him around,” Ajibola said.
The lawmaker prayed for long life, renewed strength, and greater grace for the celebrant, wishing him “a beautiful long life, a fresh and free long life, and the grace to continue in what he is doing for the people.”
Beyond the celebration, Ajibola also used the occasion to address issues concerning Osun State. He expressed optimism about the future of the state and prayed for peace among its people. He called for divine intervention against what he described as oppression, asking God to deliver the people from challenges confronting them.
Ajibola voiced strong support for Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, stating that the governor remains in the hearts of the people despite financial pressures and political challenges. He maintained that any current difficulties are temporary, expressing confidence that the will of the people would ultimately prevail.
According to him, political developments within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), including past internal crises, have only strengthened public awareness. He noted that the people of Osun are well-informed about ongoing events and are being conscientized and educated on how to make informed decisions when the time comes.
Ajibola concluded by reiterating his belief in the power of the people to determine the political future of Osun State, expressing faith that justice and fairness would ultimately triumph.
