Dear Faithful Members of Our Great Party,
As we journey through this season of spiritual reflection, I extend my heartfelt greetings to all Christians observing Lent and Muslims observing Ramadan. These sacred periods remind us of the importance of sacrifice, devotion, and service to humanity—values that unite us all, regardless of faith.
To our Christian brothers and sisters, may your Lenten season deepen your connection to God and renew your spirit as you prepare to celebrate Easter. As the Bible reminds us in Colossians 3:23-24, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”
To our Muslim brothers and sisters, may this Ramadan bring you closer to Allah (SWT), and may your fasting and prayers be accepted. As the Quran states in Surah Al-Baqarah 2:183, “O you who have believed, decreed upon you is a fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.”
Let us use these holy seasons to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in Lagos State and Nigeria at large. Together, we can continue to build a stronger and more inclusive community, guided by the principles of love, tolerance, and mutual respect.
Wishing you all a blessed Lent and Ramadan!
