In a passionate address to members of the press, a leading House of Representatives hopeful for Owan Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections has called on his supporters and residents to urgently collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing the card as the strongest tool for democratic participation in Nigeria.
Speaking during a recent media briefing, the candidate emphasized that the PVC remains the only legitimate means through which citizens can demonstrate their support and exercise their constitutional rights. He urged those who are yet to obtain their voter cards to do so promptly, stressing that meaningful change begins with active participation in the electoral process.
According to him, “The only sword in a democratic nation like Nigeria is your PVC. It is your voice, your strength, and your power. Without it, you cannot truly be part of the change you desire.”
The aspirant, who is contesting under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), noted that his vision for Owan Constituency is centered on inclusivity and development. He declared his commitment to championing the interests of youths, the elderly, women, farmers, and artisans, assuring them that their concerns would remain a priority in his legislative agenda.
He further stated that political power ultimately belongs to the people who are willing to stand up and claim it through lawful and peaceful means. Encouraging civic responsibility, he warned against vote-buying and the selling of mandates, describing such acts as a betrayal of fundamental and constitutional rights.
“Your mandate is your future,” he said. “Do not trade it for temporary gains. Protect it. Use it wisely.”
The address ended with a renewed call for unity and active participation, as he rallied supporters to prepare ahead of the 2027 elections by ensuring they are registered, verified, and ready to vote.
As the political atmosphere gradually builds toward 2027, his message adds to the growing call for increased voter awareness and grassroots mobilization across constituencies nationwide.
