Prophet Godwin Ikuru, founder of the Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry in Lagos State, has revealed plans to seek the governorship of Lagos State in the 2027 general election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during an interaction with members of the press in Lagos, the cleric spoke highly of the performance of the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, whom he described as a leader with strong knowledge of the state’s needs and structure. He noted that his observations over time have convinced him that Lagos is being led by someone who understands its complexity.
Ikuru said that if he is entrusted with the leadership of the state, his administration would pursue rapid development aimed at positioning Lagos among the world’s most advanced cities, similar to global hubs like Dubai. He explained that his vision includes active participation of young people in governance, as well as deliberate inclusion of artisans, traders, and market operators in economic planning and decision-making.
According to him, Lagos would experience a new phase of growth and transformation under his leadership, building on existing foundations while expanding opportunities for all residents.
The aspiring governorship candidate also appealed to residents who are not originally from Lagos to rally behind his ambition, emphasizing that the state is a shared home for everyone contributing to its progress.

Ikuru further voiced his trust in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing optimism that the president’s influence and leadership will remain relevant in Nigeria’s political future beyond 2027.
He concluded by assuring Lagosians that his proposed administration would focus on unity, broad-based development, and improved living standards across the state.
