Hon. Zansi Lara Samuel has extended her heartfelt condolences to prominent APC leader and Christian cleric, Cardinal James Odunmbaku, widely known as “Baba Eto,” following the passing of his wife, Mother Celestial Olasinmi Akindele Odunmbaku. The news of her demise has triggered a wave of mourning across political and religious circles in the region.
The deceased, who was a revered public servant and a dedicated community leader, passed away on Thursday. Prior to her death, Mother Celestial Odunmbaku left a lasting legacy in governance, having notably served as the former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in Ondo State, where she championed numerous initiatives for women and youth empowerment.
In a statement made available to journalists, Hon. Lara described the transition of the late stateswoman as a painful and staggering loss. She emphasized that Mother Celestial Odunmbaku’s absence would be deeply felt not just by her immediate family but by the entire state and everyone who had the privilege of working alongside her in the public sphere.
”I received the news of the passing of Mother Celestial Olasinmi Akindele Odunmbaku with profound sadness,” Hon. Lara stated. “Losing a beloved spouse is a deeply painful experience. I pray that Almighty God grants our revered Baba Eto and the entire family the strength, comfort, and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
