The election process to choose new leadership for the Ogun West Professionals for Yayi concluded on Sunday following the formal announcement of executive position winners. The pseudo-political platform, which comprises professionals across the senatorial district, brought its weeks-long electoral cycle to a close. The process previously involved nomination acceptances and presentation of policy plans by various aspirants aiming to lead the group.
The committee tasked with managing the process was led by Engineering Professor Funke Akinkurolere. According to the electoral body, the exercise utilized an online voting system that drew participation from over 200 members out of the group’s 800-strong membership base. Following the collation of votes, the committee released the official breakdown of the results to the public.
Dr. Morakinyo Oloyede emerged as the newly elected President of the forum. Joining him on the executive team are Mr. Timothy Olatunji as Vice President, Mr. Akinleye Olubori as General Secretary, Mr. Agboyinu Benjamin as Finance Secretary, Mr. Adekunle Adebiyi as Treasurer, and Rotn Kayode Taiwo as Public Relations Officer. Additionally, Prince Tosin Adeluyi was elected Project Coordinator, Hajia Fausat Bashir as Welfare Officer, and Dr. Tosin Adegbola as Assistant Secretary.
Formed to mobilize voters and raise awareness across Ogun West and the broader Ogun State, the group focuses on supporting the gubernatorial ambition of Sen. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) ahead of the 2027 elections. Prior to the executive elections, the forum engaged in community voter education programs, media chats, and public media sensitization campaigns to align with its core mandate.
With its newly constituted executive council, the group plans to shift its focus toward executing strategic programs aimed at delivering a minimum of 500,000 votes from the Ogun West Senatorial District for Senator Adeola. Members of the forum commended the electoral committee for overseeing a coordinated voting process, while the public relations officer noted that details regarding the official inauguration of the new leaders will be announced in due course.
